"Authentic" or Retun For Refund

on monday i am sending in my 1887 A&G Mike Kelly to SGC. i was just filling out the submission paperwork, and there is a box to check if i would like the card slabbed as AUTHENTIC if it is determend to be altered.

The seller said i can return the card is it is not gradable for any reason.. so my question is to check the box or not?

would the value of a "A" card be on par to what i paid? ($535)

  • That's a decision you'll have to make, but if it were me, I would want my money back if it was found to be altered
  • You're paying for the service either way so why not have it slabbed authentic? Whether you return it after that is up to you. It's a nice looking card and you may break even if you sold it slabbed as authentic, but would most likely end up losing a little money on the deal.

    Depends.

If you would want to keep it even if it's trimmed ( I would) then you ask them to holder it "A" if trimmed. You can call first to explain what you want before it gets there.

If you don't want to keep it if trimmed, then you don't want it holdered, just returned. Removes ambiguity from the deal.

If you don't want it if trimmed, please send a scan. I might want it if you don't want it as "A". I could never ever afford a straight one.

  • Getting it slabbed authentic would go along ways in helping with a SNAD claim with Paypal. You would have a third party opinion if they should happen to ask for it
