"Dealer X sent me to you to possibly purchase my coin"-- does this ever make a difference?

I was at the Baltimore show in March, and I wanted to sell one of my coins. The coin was stickered, and I figured I would make a killing selling it to an official, authorized CAC dealer. This dealer, however, had no interest in the coin, even though the sticker was prominently displayed on the slab. Needless to say, I was crushed. The dealer (let's call her Dealer X) then said, "go see Dealer Y, and see if he wants to buy it."

Here is my question-- when I go to see Dealer Y, would it make a difference if I said, "Dealer X sent me to see if you wanted to buy my coin"? Or would that make Dealer Y less interested, because if the coin was clearly PQ (which, it should have been, given the sticker), then why would Dealer X pass on it? Would I be shooting myself in the foot by disclosing that Dealer X didn't want anything to do it the coin? Or should I just say nothing, and let the sticker do the talking to each dealer?

Let the sticker do the talking.....

Don't say anything because you may not want Dealer Y to think they are getting the leftovers of the pickin's. Unless Dealer X tells you that they don't deal in the series and Dealer Y does as they may be more interested in purchasing it from you. I still wouldn't say anthing though......just me.

Offer it to Y without mention. If Y says no then mention that X sent you over. See if the answer changes.
