Update (from Steve) Just got my BBCE packs graded... What does Altered stock mean on a pack?

Just wondering what altered stock means on a pack before I send off an e-mail to Steve over at BBCE...

Not sure but it could mean a repacked box or case?

Many packs from different boxes or different boxes from different cases
    make up a case?

my guess would be recoloring or touching up of a corner . I had some 72 basketball packs which GAI said the corner was recolored. not something people usually look for with packs when they get them , they mostly care if they are good or not. funny thing is I opened the 72's and pulled a kareem that came back a 9 and several other 9's. must have been destiny

I suppose that when a BBCE pack comes back ungraded, it's your sign from the Pack Gods to open the sucker! No guilt or remorse! image

I agree with jrinck you must remove that wrapper and dispose of it, release those gems from that wax tomb.

Ahh the wrapper itself was re colored.

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • I just got an e-mail from Steve (he saw this thread and e-mailed me)

Basically he said this is a code PSA uses to cover just about anything (he has no clue what it means)... Steve did not remember looking at the pack but said it could have been something like the wrapper started to come off or the seal was broken.
