Another HTF card... captured! ... added to my rediculous collection!
I almost fell outta my chair when I saw this pop up on Ebay! It's from 2005 Topps Rookie Cup, and was available in REDEMPTION form only!
For one, it's amazing whoever open the pack that had this redemption ever redeemed it... probably thought:
"Alright!!! I redemption #'d to 3!! Woo Hoo! Wait... Chris Sabo?!?!? SON OF A ------!"
I figured I'd never see one... that all three were either yet to be pulled from packs, or tossed somewhere in someone's random junk box at a show somewhere.
If you're not at all familiar with these cards, Topps takes two of the original cards (in this case from '89 Topps) and glues them on each side of a pack slug.
That pack slug has some cheap piece of crap plastic "all-star rookie cup" imitation of the original artwork from the original card. Not all of these inserts
were #'d to 3, and not all were redemptions. Oh ya, and just about all of them either came directly out of a pack, or straight from Topps in beat-up condition.
Kinda sucks to get a great insert, just to realize it looks like it was tossed down a flight of stairs before being inserted into the pack.
I will send this bad-boy into PSA to get slabbed... looks like a psa 6 or 7 (at best) to me, but I don't care. Because it's so thick, I want to protect it.
Anyhow... back to the trails of hunting down more Sabo's to add to my pile!
Great big THANKS to JackWESQ and mreuter for helping locate the card and assist with me saving a few bucks in the process!
