1836 B-1 Obverse Die stage - 3 / Reverse die stage - 3 R-2.
This obverse continues to break up and develops several more die breaks. A major one from this break, through the chin, and to the rim inbetween star-1 & star-2 was the last to develop.
If your coin was higher grade, you should be able to see that where the crack goes through the eye brow and out to star -7, an internal cud develops at the brow.
This very prolific reverse was used to produce 6 die marriages, one in 1835, B-8 (which may have been struck in 1836), two in 1836, B-1 & B-5, and three in 1837, B-1, B-3 & B-4. The crack through STATES never developed a retained cud and was stable throughout all of the strikings.
I think it might slab, but it all depends on how tight the grading company is on any given day...
Gotta love them Capped bust Quarters!

<< <i>Looks just like this one currently being sold on the BST. >>
True, but look again. I actually think I changed my mind, and took it down. I want to keep it and build a CBQ year set
And Quarternut, you --never-- cease to amaze me with your knowledge

Huh, that didn't last too long. The coin sure seems to be back up for sale on the BST.
