1857 S $3 Gold question

I understand that thier are many counterfiet $3 gold coins and one should buy from a trusted dealer or
buy one certified.

This 1857 S is an NCS VF details Graffiti on reverse.

What would be a reasonable price for this one and is it worth buying or
better to find a "No Problem" example.

I am thinking closer to F than VF. What do you think?

There are so many things that would scare me off this coin !
1) Graffiti reverse
2) Uneven Wear on date
3)Heavily counterfeited & not certified
4) Color looks off

I wouldn't touch it .

It's in an NCS holder, it is genuine.

But, stay away from problem coins - you automatically eliminate like 80% of the collecting public when you try to resell (unless the coin is exceptionally rare, which this is not).

That piece would be properly priced around $600. A problem free is probably closer to $1,000.

I've owned the 1857-S $3 in AU grade. The date is typically weak, esp on the "8 & 5". This coin looks genuine... color is fine, although the "x" would cause me to pass on it.
