Memory Lane shipping charges

wondering if anyone won anything from the recent Memory Lane auction and if so how were the shipping charges. I won a single graded card and a second lot for a 5x7 photo . Total before shipping came to $2,236 and they want $320 for shipping. I"ve emailed them and left a voice mail...hoping to hear back from someone on Monday.

I've never purchased from Memory Lane before but have from other big auction houses. Shipping has always been on the high side but nothing even close to this crazy.

saw my invoice online and thought it was a mistake. then i received a hard copy in the mail and it's the same as online.

any one else have any shipping charge history from Memory Lane?

thank you
Joel

  • Unless your first lot was a full pallet of cement, that's absurd. Maybe it was an error on their end, but I might not follow through if they tried to get that much.

Are you sure it wasn't a buyer's premium included in there?

That is absurd. I bought one card that was quite a bit higher than this off the latest ML auction, and they only charged me $30 which includes shipping/insurance. I would get an explanation.

  • no - shipping/handling/insurance was listed at $320. the BP was close to this...about $340 total

    It's an error.

If not, I would refuse to pay.

I have found them easy to deal with, in the past.

I'll bet it's a mistake. I won one graded card at the last auction for $389 and shipping was $10.00. I won one at the previous auction for $3500 and shipping was $15.

Is there any chance that is the "buyers fee" that is always added to the total at auction houses like this? It's usually in the neighborhood of 15-18% of the purchase price. Like Storm mentioned, if indeed that is the S/H charges, I'd tell em' to stick-it!
  • nope it was the shipping. I thought the online invoice was a mistake. then I received a hard copy in the mail and it was the same. I am hoping to hear back from them tomorrow. but if this is accurate I don't think they'll be getting payment from me.
