affects of the short selling ban and gov. buying debt

It seems to be obvious that the short term affects on the markets has been extremely positive, but how much longer will these massive rallies last? The short selling ban is lifted on October 2nd and I wonder if the short sellers will then mass their troops and initialize an all out assault at that point, saying goodbye to the financial companies that were so close to going belly up.

1. What do you guys see happening once this ban expires?
2. Will this recent rally last?
3. What does this all mean for PM's

    1. *IF* the ban expires. With the rules changing so fast, who knows what future "emergency" edicts will be put into place?

    2. I'm staying away from the market for now. Too many unknowns.

    3. Short term, anything could happen. Long term, I'm optimistic on higher PM prices.

Short selling did not cause the markets to selloff. It sold off cuz investors were simply selling long positions and there were no buyers. Its just that simple. Dont listen to what the media wants you to know.

Were there some short sellers, of course, and I was one. Why not profit from panic? But the amount of shortselling is grossly overwhelmed by legitimate long distribution.
