package arrives today and...

i`m waiting on a delivery of some labels for a new label printer for when i do my shipping. get home from work and there is a box here i say hummmm sure is a big box for labels?after a shower and dinner i open the box and find toner cartridges for a laser printer and they are very pricy. i figure the seller of the labels mispackaged and went to his ebay store and see he does not carry this brand. sent message asking if there was a mix-up? no responce so far.

i look at the packing slip and my name is not on it???

it was sold by an office machine wholesaler to an office supply retailer from pa to de. i live in ct and have no clue how my name and addy got in the mix. there is no connection between the labels i ordered and these two companies.

my question?

what would you do?

Technically, if it was sent you to, I don't think you are obligated to return it. But, morally, you should call them and tell them of their mix-up; and offer to ship it back to them on their dime.

i did not order these and have never ordered from them. how did they get my name and addy???

delivered ups, wife heard knock at the door and opened up to see the box and the driver driving off down the street. no sig.

the packing slip has ship to addy but the wholesaler(shipper) does not have a phone # on the packing slip. i googled both addys and found contact info.

i`m just perplexed at how my name got in their system. on the shipping label(ups) it has my name then the phone # from the "ship to" phone number in delaware and then my addy in ct.

i guess my whole point is why wasn`t i shipped a box full of coins instead of toner cartridges?

I would have preferred coins of different colors myself.

I'd say it was prolly cuz you dint order coins.

The obvious thing to do is contact the shipper and ask how they got your addy. If you don't find anything to upset you after that, then the gentlemanly thing to do would be to offer to forward it on to the intended recipient at no cost to you.

I'm beginning to think we need a missing packages and shipping stuff board too.

Contact the shipping company and let them straighten it out. (Possibly a rush order for color printer carts - expensive items.)

Why would you do that since it already has an intended recipient? Smoeone's day is already gloomy cuz the package they wuz expectin aint arrived. Call the sender and ask them what they would like done with it.

like i said i am expecting labels from an ebay store so i emailed them to see if somehow things got mixed up. that was yesterday and still no answer. now i`m going to email the wholesaler and let them know i have these items.
