10-1954 D Lincolns-Crossover or Reholder? Lots of Pics

My husband purchased these when we first started collecting coins.Should i send all of them in to crossover and hope for the best or should i pick out the best two or three and try it? The pictures do not do the coins justice because the cases are badly scratched. This is because we did not know any better at the time and kept all of our coins stacked in the safe. I have tried WD40, vaseline and plastic cleaner to no avail. Would you send in the other ones to be reholdered? No two pictures are the same even though the die cracks on Lincolns temple look alike. Any and all comments are greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Carolyn

Is it the scratched plastic that is bothering you or are you trying to get them into the PCGS Registry?

Honestly, from a distance, they don't look too bad.
Good Luck!
The name is LEE!
You'll take a lickin' if they don't 67 at PCGS huh? ($55/$2850 PCGS guide)
Very hard to tell from the pics if you have any 67s in the lot. What do you think?

I will probably send in five of them to PCGS for crossover with a minimum grade of 67. If nothing crosses then i will still have them in NGC holders.

Don't waste your money. I can almost guarantee that none of these will upgrade to 67 at PCGS.

They also value at different standards.
I am sure that these coins did not cost what a comparable coin
in a PCGS slab would sell for.
Understand the coin and not the slab.
20 or so years ago I used to purchase slabbed Mercs. I either purchased 66 PCGS slabs or 67 NGC slabs.
I felt then, and still do now, that a PCGS 66 Merc was VERY comparable to an NGC 67 Merc.
And surprise surprise....a 67 NGC sold for about the same price as a 66 PCGS back then....
If I saw a PCGS 67 Merc I knew I would pay a much higher price that I would for the same type Merc coin
in a 67 NGC slab, because in my opinion PCGS grades Mercs to a 1 point tighter scale in the GEM to Superb Gem Merc
category.
Buy the coin not the slab.
I'd leave the rest in the NGC slabs, the scratches don't look too bad.
In the future try using boxes or the plastic bags for sports cards, they fit the slabs and save them from scratches.
