just turned 56 and have been collecting since 1964. Had a few years away from the hobby during the 70's due to school and the Army, but have been collecting off and on since then. can also share one of the horror stories about collections, had sets or partial sets from 1955 thru 70 that I sold to my brother. He eventually had a parting with his wife and you can all guess where the cards ended up. Now neither of us can enjoy our old cards......
  • 28, started in '87.

Started collecting in 1983...stopped 1992 after Shaq's rookie season even though I was an avid baseball collector. Started collecting again last year. I can't break the habit. Anyone have a psychologist or some other means to help me with it.....

I will be 45 this year and have been collecting since I first opened a series one pack of 1973 topps baseball. I was hooked ever sincce. I never really gave up the hobby through the teen years and my father and I bought collections on a huge scale during the early 1980's. I remember buying shopping bags full of cards for a hundred bucks and coming away with a real nice collection. My dad and I sold off our collection and got bit by the collecting bug again and then sold that collection off once more. My dad has now passed and I have been collecting more cards and ticking my wife off now more than ever. I have learned to really appreciate the 1950's football my dad loved and someday would love to try to get those sets together and pass them on to my grandkids just as I know my dad wanted to do.

I am trying to collect complete sets of the 70's baseball cards that were such a huge part of my childhood and will hopefully complete some 1050's football as well. .
I am on a budget and I am not afraid to use it!!

33, I started in '82, quit and sold everything in '94, and started back in March of this year.
  • 183 years old. Started playing the game at the Elysian Fields in the 1840's in Hoboken. Died in 1890 at the age of 65 and was reborn in 1961. Got into card collecting in 1971 buying black border Topps and stealing them from other kids and even shoplifting a few packs from our local Safeway. Seems like I always got a Dean Chance card in every frickin pack....Guess that's what I get for being a thief...
  • I'm 36 will be 37 week before xmas.
