Check out this 1862 Seated Half...

I'm concentrating on "CC" coins, but this Civil War date Seated Half sure looks purty!!!image

I say you'd better grab it if you want it, since
you've advertised it to all these claim jumpers
    here!!

Could be nice, but I tend to stay away from rainbow toning on the circulated grades below AU. Seems too fishy to me. The luster is mostly gone at XF45 so the only way it can tone, is if the coin is dipped or cleaned, then it just looks too artificial.

It still looks fairly nice in the pic though.

Also, look at the plastic around the coin. It's purple!!

Anyone like a nice cup of juice??

    Doesn't seem pretty. Sorry.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

That coin is unattractive IMO, and colors like that on circulated coins look wierd. I am surprised it is in a TPG holder (it would likely bodybag now, given their recent over-skittishness on toning).

Good observation. You're almost garaunteed the coin will not look like it does in those photos, in hand. Poorly balanced image at best, juiced on purpose at worst.

That's my thinking as well. Coloring on a coin below AU is a red flag to me indicating it has been dipped or polished and has retoned.

Joe is one of the good guys, but I believe the image is awful.

My first observation was the white balance is way off and it appears several others noticed also.

Could look very good in hand but we have no way to tell until we see it in hand. image

I can tell you that I bought this coin off Joe and when I got it there is absolutely no color whatsoever on the coin. Of course I knew that ahead of time, and I was very pleased with the transaction.

If the image was juiced, I suspect the coin looks very nice in hand. I also suspect that the toning is strongest where luster remains.

Although his photography or Photoshop methods make it way too purple looking, I'm guessing it would still look pretty good in hand, but you can only make an educated guess on its true appearance.
Same thing with his nice, 1868 PR64 Seated Dollar.

Joe Kaminski is a very honest guy. I think he does contrast his images for effect, but I have done business in the past and would in the future as well.

It looks to me like he has increased the image saturation and that caused the holder to look bluish. It you decrease the saturation until the plastic looks normal this is what you get:

The listing says "CAC" but I don't see a picture of the slab? I thought all listings were supposed to show both sides of the holder or am I wrong?
