Bad seller photos = cool widget

Picked this up for $14 plus shipping. Auction title only said 1884 necklace/handmade.

I've always thought these were neat so figured a $15.00 snipe and if I won cool if not oh well.

Read a thread several months ago on the origin of these but cant find it now.

Thought I might put it up for resale but wife claimed it as a necklace as soon as she opened the box.

I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.

You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

  • I owned one that was identical in every way except for the date. I paid around $75 and sold it years later for the same so $14 is dirt cheap for one of these... image

    Bump for the morning crowd.

I'm still wondering if anyone knows the origin of these.

For some reason I think I read that they were first made at one of the Worlds Fairs with later reproductions existing. I could be totally off base though.

Yes, they were items made the the world's fairs, but the dies still exist and there are a lot of contemporary ones out there. No matter what, for melt you can't go wrong!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!
