Storm...Could you explian Please !!!!!!

Good day,
Latest E-Mail from the Fee-Bay...Does this apply to Collectibles, in other words, our cards, and in English, what exactly does this mean.
Thanks
Neil

Starting September 16, the new Fixed Price Insertion Fees for Books, Music, DVDs & Movies, and Video Games will be just 15¢--and just 35¢ in other categories--regardless of your item price or quantity of items in your listing.
5¢ special for the holidays
Also starting September 16, and through the end of the year, if you list with pre-filled item information, Fixed Price Insertion Fees for Books, Music, DVDs & Movies, and Video Games are just 5¢.

Sell more and stay on top--list for 30 days
At the same time we lowered upfront fees, we optimized Best Match to consider a listing's recent sales instead of time left as a key factor in search results. That means the more your multi-quantity Fixed Price listing sells, the better position it can get.

Tips to build your "recent sales" advantage:

List in multi-quantity Fixed Price listings with the new 30-day duration--included in
the new low fee--to build up your recent sales.

For maximum efficiency, use the new "Good 'Til Cancelled" option, also included in the new
low fee. Your listing will automatically renew for the same low fee every 30 days. The
listing's recent sales will be carried over.

If your listing sells out or expires, don't create a new listing--just add inventory
and "relist." The listing's recent sales will be carried over.
This is the perfect opportunity to list more inventory in Fixed Price at a low upfront cost. Combine multiple similar items into a single 5¢ or 15¢ listing. Move your best Stores inventory to full exposure on eBay.

Actually Collect Non Sport, but am just so full of myself I post all over the place !!!!!!!

It applies to cards and most other fixed-price items.

(You can still use BIN in an auction, BUT the new price/duration
    does not apply to auctions.)

    30-days for 35-cents

These items will usually appear at the END of Best-Match pages.

These items are NOT going to be displayed in order with
    "ending soonest" searches.

The best display of these items will be in BIN searches.

    ////////////////////////

If you offer "free" shipping, you get a "free" subtitle, starting October 1. ($1.50 w/o free shipping.)

Folks Who Bite Get Bitten. Folks Who Don't Bite Get Eaten.
  • they forgot to mention how the final fees have been getting bigger and bigger. We are actually paying more and more in fees.

This Fleeybay C#$p is getting more complicated than our tax code. Is all this nessasry ? Those fools took a easy & fun site to use, and are just destroying it.

besides stocks and real estate, the price of most everything is going up....ebay is not alone in raising prices/fees

So every time that Ebay announces great new lower prices to list items & yet they never mention the higher final value fees that they DO raise at the same time ... someone shouldnt mention it ?

    What is your reasoning ?

Enjoy being taken advantage of ?

Or we should all just say "That's how it is"
  • I just listed an item this morning under the 30 day for 35 cents and it shows up near the top of the best match when I view it through search.

Considering the customer base Ebay is still the cheapest game in town.

Yes, "best match" is what comes up first when you do a search,
but dont most people generally use "newly listed" & "ending soonest" ?

I have a folder in my favorites with searches set on "newly listed", for all the cards that I'm looking for,
I do a daily click on all the links to see what was listed new that day.
I thought most did it that way, but maybe not.

Anyway, it seems that EVERYONE wants more of your money nowadays,
and it doesnt seem to matter to anyone that people ARE struggling.
NO ONE is willing to give people a break ($ wise), and Ebay is no different.

Yes, Ebay is "The cheapest in town" ... they are the ONLY game in town ... they know it, and so do we.
Not much of a game, when fees are higher & sale prices are much lower than they used to be ... if you HAVE sales.
Cant wait for the "MUST LIST PAYPAL" as a payment method in October.
Anyone notice the low amount of listings lately ?

    I am getting mixed-results.

Some are on page one, some are on page 7.

The fewer items listed in the category, obviously, the better the chance of an early page.

In a heavily-populated category, "ending soonest" puts the 35-centers at the end of the line.

I wonder what Ebay's profit trend has been over the past 3 years. I mean the real numbers, not the numbers they are manipulating to make the stock holders happy. Is it possible they may crash at "the right time" when they can blame it on bad economy? Only time will tell....then what? Who knows, maybe it will continue to survive as it is now.

i like how they change everything,, raise prices, and then think they are mailmen now by capping shipping prices
they can raise their fees, but we cant or a big "you suck" page comes up talking about shipping, pretty well sums it up to me the way i see itimage-because nobody ever uses the butterflyimage
