I'm keeping the nickel set for the forseeable(?) future or until I catch your old set.

Even more importantly, when is the TYPE set going up? I love your type setimage

  • The type set gets the proceeds of the sales. It may be quite a while before it goes on the market.

I call David Lawrence today to ask about "billywls" Lincoln collection........ " We were told that you would be calling from another collector, he said that he would beat your bid my 10% on any coin you wanted to buy!"

    !@$&(&*^#@! image

dpoole! One of these days! image

  • Hi Bill,

I guess you were serious in earlier threads about enjoying the Type Sets. Hmmm sounds like your going hunting in the High Desert image

  • Just noticed on a visit to DL that they have about 1500 fewer coins for sale than yesterday. LOL, guess they needed to raise some cash

    Spooly,

The people at David Lawrence told me they and Bill are grossly insulted by a bid only 10% over what SPOOLY would pay.

    I can see their point.

I gotta rethink my strategy here!

  • I don't think dpoole or spooly deserve any of the coppers image They are starting to hurt my bank account. Competition for the top ten is getting fierce!!!

I think I see some potential additions to my 1900 Type Set in this post!
Give Blood (Red Bags) & Platelets (Yellow Bags)!
  • Just stay awy from the half cents guys. My bank account can't keep up with the competitionimageimageimage
  • Spooly,

We know what Bill is bringing to the table over in Type land. But we like him because he shows us pictures of those coins that most of us only get to see in auction catalogs or the Redbook. image That and he keeps High Desert on his toes.

  • Yeah, I agree completely with Keith. We know what is coming our way. In fact Bill is already here and way ahead of Keith and I image

Billy is a numismatic jaggernaut (how's THAT for a cool handle?? image )

Your only hope is to distract him and lure him away somehow, from YOUR series!

    Suggestions are gratefully accepted.

("Hey, Billy! That's no challenge! MS70's are a dime a dozen in the Type sets!")

("Hey, Billy! You ever thought about stamp collecting?")

("Hey, Billy! You wife has her eye on that little island in French Polynesia...")

  • dpoole,

We've been trying to talk High Desert into collecting Charlotte and Dahlonega gold for a while now to no avail. Maybe Bill would like one of those series. image

  • Bill,

They have the Walkers and SLQ sets available for inquiry as well when I looked today. Great sets and I am definitely pondering an upgrade or two.

  • I went to the dl site to see what the Reg sets were going for. It said I would have to call or e-mail for the prices. I saw where dl has his own Wash Reg set for sale.
