I was just about to put up on Fleebay, a Barry Sanders 1989 Pro Set PSA 10

So I first look at the most recently ended auction sales, and ............ $13.00 DOLLARS !?!?

$13.00 bones for a PSA 10 Barry Sanders rookie card ?

$13.00 , $14.00 , $15.00 , $17.00 are the most recent sales (in a downward pattern)

Anybody still own their copy that they paid $200.00+ for, back in 2000 ?

Once it hits $10.00, I'm crackin' it, and use it to wipe my crack with it (it will be cheaper than Charmin)

I guess thats what will happen to a card that has over 600 gem mint 10's

Remember it is a Pro Set card not a Score Sanders rookie. There must be a million Pro Set cards out there.

What do you guys think are more plentiful......89 ProSet or 89 Topps Traded?

i sold a few of those back in the day (uh oh, oldtimer rhetoric.....RUN!)......then i bought a table.

Based on listings, I would say Topps

Then again, they are BOTH plentiful, and both are junk

Dont anyone think that Score is so rare either. Plenty of that stuff out there too.

It's just sad, that in a few months, this card will be in single digit $ sales.

Correst me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that card was ever worth $200. The Score was for sure, but I don't think Pro Set or Topps Traded were ever that high. They made a gazillion of each.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Yes, it was (close to it, or even more)
I know ONE idiot who paid very close to $200.00 fpr a PSA 10 back in 2000

At this time, the Score Sanders was $1000 - $1200 for PSA 10
$200 or less is the going price now

I believe this is what they are calling "Market Corrections" on Fox News LOL
  • This is what they are calling SUPPLY > DEMAND.

Most modern cards were so overproduced that even in PSA 10 supply is greater than demand.
  • Look at the PSA 10 Ultra Favre rookie. Its usually lucky to break 10.00 and it is not near as common as that Sanders

Good luck to all the current "low pop" Modern cards, when they are no longer "low pop"

Ive seen a lot of modern PSA 10's fall dramatically as more and more people are getting their cards graded and the grading companies are getting more and more lax on what actually constitutes "Gem Mint"

Late 80's stuff is so plentiful that you can open boxes of the stuff at little cost and generally get some 10's. The 1989 Pro Set was made on fairly good card stock, unlike the 1990-1991 sets which was made on two ply toilet paper, so 10's are not too uncommon from that time frame. $13 seems a little low, but the economy has lost a lot of its expendable cash and its driving the prices down.,
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

Thats a good point about the quality of the card stock. The 1990 Proset Emmitt Smith isn't hard to find AT ALL. But PSA 10s still go for well over $100 because they're so hard to find without dinged edges and corners.
