Do you refund shipping when someone buys something and then returns it?

When you sell something to a board member and feel you have correctly graded the cards, gave them a great price cheaper than ebay, and shipped them safely, do you refund the shipping price when they return them anyway? I don't feel its right when I have to eat the shipping to send them when I was trying to help out a board member and provided good product.

LMK what you think because it may dictate how I handle it.

That's a gray area, and would be something to narrow down upfront.

It's like when you return something to Target, do you expect them to pay your gas costs incurred in driving there? No.

So in this case, I wouldn't refund it, nor would I expect it to be refunded.

If I misrepresented it accidently or if it was damaged because of poor packaging, I should refund shipping. If it arrived ok and the buyer just doesn't want it, they should pay shipping and insurance to return it.

haven't had that situation occur but I have had situations where I've charged shipping, found out shipping was less than what I charged. In that case I refund the difference. I believe it creates good will instead of gouging the buyer.

It depends on the reason for the return and how the buyer dealt with it. If it is a case of simple buyers remorse then no I don't. If Paypal gets involved like with a SNAD claim then you have no choice.

Really? I must have been lucky as my only refund through paypal (SNAD) I only returned the bid amount not the postage.

    Buyer accepted the refund.
