... but you know how obsessed I am about portrait 8 Reales varieties (especially varieties of the actual king punch), so I pulled a trigger on the Bay of e and purchased an 1821 Durango "peculiar portrait" variety. Haven't seen these offered in a while, plus Calbeto lists it as "R - Rare". I'll take pictures when it arrives, but for now - here are seller's images. Comments? Suggestion? Opinions?

Are they normally that crude (weak strike) looking? Not knowing the issue, I would question its authenticity.

That reverse strike looks like a broken die strike. It may also be reflected in the weakness on the Obv. Do they line up? The mouth to nose area does not look like the same coin. Interesting piece if real.
