i heard that most pcgs graders tend to get hired after they "prove themselves" after several years @ NGC, ANACS, etc. Hardly any are simply hired without worknig somewhere else first.

I'd assume they must have a background as a dealer with renown status.

they do have a comprehensive grading reference set and a finalizer...probably a big stack of apps only coin geeks turn in too
