Vermont Baseball Exhibit

I was working through New England this summer and found out that some private collectors were exhibiting their items at a small Vermont Museum.

Here is a link to two pages of photos - MLB on main and a local Vermont baseball on the second. The local items included Abby McConnell, Carlton Fisk and TV Cowboy; Chuck Connors.

    The Brooks jersey was a rare zipper type used around 1959 to 1961.

    I also have some 11 x 19 posters that were displayed around town. They were based on the Turkey Red Cy Young cabinet card.

    I think they're missing the point of a turnstile.

    The turnstile is part of the exhibit. It is from the refurbishing of Yankee Stadium.

    I was granted access to photograph the exhibit as a fellow curator. No photography was allowed by visitors.

    I was amazed at the accesability of the items. As you can tell by the photos, very few items were behind glass. Getting to feel the material that Gehrig, Di Maggio and Mantle wore was a bit surreal.
