went by a local flea mart today, there were 3 dealers there for coins.
i ask about ike's. all 3 said they were out, that some guy came by and bought all they had.
after talking for awhile, i found out that what they bought were common circulated clad ikes.
for $2.25 each.
one of the sellers had one 1971 s proof ike that was removed and airtited from a brown box, i ask the price and he picked up a coin mag and said $12.
i ask him if he would take $10, he said no. after talking for awhile i ask if i could see his book for a minute.
noticed that the book was a july issue i said to him , you do know that gold and silver is down. he says yes and after some more talking i walked with the ike for, $8.00.
he had a 3 coin set of the 1976 silver coins , i could not talk him down from the $25 he wanted.
anyway, i took some pictures of this ike, they look bad, real bad. when i learn the best way to take coin pictures i will put it up for show.
