"Coins of the 20th Century" type sets in the picture frames

I'm an XF-MS person myself when it comes to what condition I like my coins, but am I the only one that thinks that G-VF coins look best in one of these picture frames? I can't imagine a bunch of AU-Uncs in one.

Yeah, lower grade coins can look good in one of those.

Which reminds me... I took some of the lower end and/or cleaned coins from my antique mall booth and started filling one of those. I think it lacks only some of the modern issues. I have been wondering what to do with the doggone thing. Press on and finish it, or just pull the coins out and give the frame away? Hmm.

Oddly enough, these are quite often filled with low grade coins, but they have been previously polished into oblivion to make them acceptable to the general public.

Yep. That's where one of my overshiny Morgan dollars ended up. image

Funny you'd mention that, Tom. I just dismantled one of those frames two weeks ago and "polished into oblivion" is a fair description. Almost look chrome plated.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

You're a dealer now. Finish it and sell it to someone during the Christmas shopping season for Obscene Profit™.

My local B&M has one of those with the fake woodgrain panel on his wall. It's filled with some of the nicest gem bu coins I've seen. The thing looks stunning. I foget what the asking prices is but it's multiple thousands.

Wow to the above set. I have a small oak framed set that I spent a couple hundred filling with BU examples.
It looks nice and I'm hoping for toners like the ones above in about 30 years. image
