If you are going to set this up, it will require you to check these boards on a daily basis.

Daily... how about every 5 mins like LSU does!
agreed.
the last rip took several days to fill up.
I would much rather it be done by someone who checks these boards often.
<< <i>If I remember right wasn't there purposely time given to allow those who do not post often the chance.

Agreed.... LSU ready to step back up to the plate???????????
Oh wait, football?? nevermind.
Cmon LSU, you know you can't say NO. You know this will be the rip that contains a key rookie in every pack
<< <i>I will volunteer and take the rains on this one. I check the message board 2-3 times per day. If everyone is cool with that I will start the ball rolling. Please let me know if anyone opposes this. >>
Don't forget your umbrella if you decide to take the "rains".

FINE!!! You F***ers!! I will do it. I had a pretty good day at work and my rip of the 89 Fleer baseball boxes turned out pretty well. Everyone else figure out what they want and I will do it..........again.
Do we want to do a football run similar to the last baseball or do we want to just mix the major team sports (hockey does not count)?
You decide, but if it's the Football Run, which I would love, then the next gets to be a mix with Baseball(70's OPC?)/Football (84)/Basketball(87/88).
Whatever you decide, I am an addict and will stand with you. Just Say No To Meetings!!!!!!! Oh and by the way your will power was inspirational!! Not!!! You are just to easy!!!
Neil
absolutley nothing but my never ending respect.
Nothing against jsweiton and of course nothing personal, but Bill has sort of become our Unofficial Official Captain on these group Rips. Why don't we just let him go for it. And as a side note maybe this is what he needs to keep his sanity, you know between buying lousy Garage Sale stuff and Quitting these Rips every other one, maybe this is what he needs to keep from going Postal. So lets just pat him on the head, nod our heads and just let him go for it!!!!
Neil
And I agree, lets take a look at the original thought with the addition of the Basketball. I for one have been well served by the past rips of that type of stuff. I agree on the 78-81 or so of Football, just so you know in recent weeks I have Ripped about 50 packs (Not part of these rips), combined of those three years in Football and of all 50 or so packs I have got exactly 3 cards worth submitting. The centering is absolutely atrocious.
Neil
That would look nice at the front of a football run.
CDsNuts, 1/9/15
That said that last batch of 81s we did left a very bad taste in my mouth. I had a card with a wax stain in the center of the pack. I am willing to say it was an honest mistake by Steve on those, but still left a bad taste.
<< <i>After looking at the cost compared to possible return, not to mention the interest level, I really do not have a warm and fuzzy feeling about doing a football run. The 81's we have done twice and they were always way OC. The 84's were great accept for the cost. Even the '89 Score were not that exciting to me last time we did them. >>
I agree. Due to less interest in the hobby for football vs. baseball cards, late 70s and Early 80s football has very little gradeable value outside of the handful of star rookie cards. I would probably pass on a full FB run but would be interested in a couple packs of specific years.

I think we need to resolve the issue of who is going to put this together first. I would love to put that to bed. Bill are you in charge, jsweiton have you transfered any pertinent info to him?
My suggestion in no particular order:
1984 Topps Football Wax Box
1987/88 Fleer Basketball Wax Box
1989 Score Football Box
1988/89 Fleer Basketball Box
1977 Baseball OPC Box
1978 Baseball OPC Box
You guys figure out the configuration, just let me know!!
And in all honesty Bill, I have spent over 2 grand with Steve in the last year, it's time for a serious discount!!!!!! We need to get a nice more than %10.00. I understand Steve runs a business, so do I on E-Bay and every once in awhile I basically reward my best customers by giving them Big Discounts!!!
Neil
<< <i> (hockey does not count) >>
No kidding
Hockey ?
Junk !!!
or
1988/89 Fleer Basketball Box
1978 Baseball OPC Box
1989 Score Football Box
I'm with Neil. I kinda like the ones mentioned above. The only change I would make would be to substitute the 89 Score with 84 or 86 Football. I would also add the 81 Donruss Golf again. Just another minor obsession I have. I am determined to pull one PSA 10 of anyone out of a pack.

I like the 87/88 basketball over the 88/89 if you are looking for a vote.
Call me old fashioned, but could jsweiton please post a name, first at least, are you Jim. Anyway, I am with Bill on these, if you can pull it together let me be the first to post my "I'll take list"
I will buy the following:
2 packs 1984 Topps Football
4 packs 1986/87 Fleer Basketball
2 packs 1987/88 Fleer Basketball (Would by more but just busted 20 packs at $12 bucks a pack from someone other than Steve and they were the best centered I've seen in years, I sub'd 29 of them and at least 4-5 will be 10's including a Jordan which is sure to be a 9 with an outside chance at a 10). So trying to get some more from this guy!!!!
5 packs 1989 Score Football
That's what I would buy as of right now, and everyone who knows me, knows that will increase!!
Neil
1984 Topps Football Unopened Cello Case $8,000.00
1984 Topps Football Unopened Cello Case. Case is still sealed and contains 16 unopened cello boxes.
We only need to have 16 people
<< <i>That would be $450 per person plus shipping and insurance. >>
I'm in for 1 box if it goes.
Ping, Come on you know as well as the rest of us what the problem is with Cello is. Really bad Gamble. Fun sort of joke idea, lets move on.
Anyway lets move on.
Neil
Edited to say I'm not interested in 83 and up baseball...

I'm sorry this happened to you.
