You are right, I logged out and here is the link http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/showcase.aspx?sc=457 there is a lot of talk about Costa Rican gold coins and how many is out there for sale. While this is true it is only the old stuff that is readily available. Since gold sales are hot this year everyone has jumped on the band wagon. Personally, I am after the new stuff which I find harder to collect. There is a 50 Colon gold coin from 1970, according to Krause it is worth $15 more than its half brother. I am talking about KM# 195.2. I have looked for about two years to find this coin and I finally found it in Italy of all places. Now, this coin comes up for sale at all of the auction houses and even on EBAY but never the 195.2. To me the $15 difference is crazy, I would tend to add a few hundred more because of the scarcity. When I found the coin for sale I did not haggle, I paid what he asked and was able to get it slabbed by PCGS. So to me the newer gold coins are more appealing than the old stuff. Enjoy the pics and I hope anyone that has coins from Costa Rica will compare and if the want to sell please contact me.
