anyone have a diagnosis for Vicky?

Being that I only dabble in bronze/copper, i'm not adept at being able to tell a few things. One of them is knowing what is making Vicky blush that darker color; simple toning, PVC damage, etc.? Also, can it be removed by a soak in olive oil or dip in acetone?
thanks for any input!

Dunno on the diagnosis, I'm afraid.
Acetone can't hurt, but I have a sneaking suspicion it ain't gonna help much, either. Worth a try.
Nice looking coin, despite the blush.
India, I am assuming. Wouldn't be 1901, by any chance, would it?
I used to have a ton of these coppers, and almost all had this type of staining to some degree.
1862 or 1874 ??
I say, leave it on. Gives the coin character.
The topic has come up here before, regarding a coin I bought from Dimitri.
But that example had writing on it in India Ink (an old collection/museum number on the reverse).
Still, it is not inconceivable that some ink could have been smudged on this piece in the OP... maybe.
