After the Red Sox took a 1-run lead against the Rays tonight, Boston then brought in Jonathan Papelbon to close out the victory. However, Papelbon promptly gave up 2 runs and lost the game for Boston.
Question: Could we call that a Pap Smear!! ??

Sure, if you're in the 8th grade. I bet you think Dan Uggla is "ugly" too.

Wow...truly pathetic.
OK, OK -- let me try another one. The next time the Boston closer blows the lead, this'll be the headline:
Red Sox Lose in the 9th on Another Papelboner

<< <i>No suprise here. HOW DARE does anybody try and poke fun or even worse, critique a beloved Sox player. Its all good, they treat everybody else the same way. I don't think ANY SOX fan ever tried to end Mariano Rivera's career because he blew a save or two. >>
You have a point there - I do remember some discussion on whether or not Rivera was finished after a slow start in '07 I think, but I don't recall any of us trying to make jokes with his name by saying that Mariano is so cold these days he should be called Shivera. Nor do I remember any Sox fans coming up with future headlines suggesting that the previous night's blown save ruined his RivERA . . . or something. (Rivera is kind of a difficult name to make elementary school jokes out of. )
