Will Platinum ever be or has it ever been on par with Gold??

A question for you historians out there.........What is the closest Plat. and Gold have been to being on par pricewise. Today Platinum is getting whacked again and is inching closer to Gold prices by the day it seems? Thanks for your insights

Looking at the chart, there was period of several years during the 80s and 90s when platinum was near parity with gold.
I was told to covert all my gold to platinum
did I listen, well NO
