Just a bit better than junk. I really like that circulated honest wear look.

are those tiarra spikes to you especially pointed and long???

i'm clueless on proofs but look at 22's incase the tiarra spike is even with bottom base of "e"

22's tiarra spikes are usually fatter aren't they?

i could be ramblin nothing too here

nice looking "peace junk" you got there

  • Even in well-worn condition, I think she is the most beautiful rendition of Liberty to grace a circulating American coin since--when, 1807? Growing up, I often bought a '22 as a gift for Dad, since that was his birth date. When I first started collecting, those and Walking Liberties were the most irresistable coins readily available to me in my price range. I have lots of more valuable Peace dollars, but the '22 is still special to me. I still pick them up when I have a few dollars burning my pocket.

  • no, not anything note worthy thats in the top 50 peace vam set... but i did think it might be a proof. It has a miniscule chance though.

The strike is very strong on that coin... for a business struck piece image.

Here is one with less wear but definitely less hair detail, too.

I really like it. "Junk" is not a word I would use in conjunction with this coin. You are welcome to send it to me if you want it to go to a loving home.image
  • A nice coin!

I have a liking for dirty silver. This fits the bill nicely. Would not mind a complete set that looked like this. image

  • I am on a very long, slow journey to assemble a matched Peace set with that exact look. A very nice circulated example in my opinion. If this ever ends up on the BST, shoot me a PM.

I think the tiara spikes look a bit sharper than usual for two reasons:

    1) The "Circ-Cam" look accentuates the appearance of sharp details.

    2) The obverse has strike-doubling (you can see it on her neck above the "9").
This can actually make the spikes appear thinner, depending upon how the die bounces across them.
  • This coin was in a can marked "Peace Junk". So after looking thru the "junk", this one caught my eye for some reason and I bought it for $10. I like her. image

    I like it too -

My first thought was that the strike is incredible.

I am not qualified to diagnose it as a proof -

Assuming it is a circulated business strike, you rarely see '22s with that much detail in any grade. Even if it is 'worth' near melt money, if you line that coin up with 100 others it will be the one that sells every time.

    Nice pick up.
