    Hi Kevin,
I'm glad to hear you are working on a MPL book. It should be very interesting. Can I assume that you DO have photos of obverse 2 die and reverse 2 die for the 1909VDB MPL? If you do it would be nice if you could post the pictures of the diagnostics so those here who own a 1909VDB can attempt to match. I personally CURRENTLY believe that only one set of dies was used in the manufacture of the 1909VDB matte proof Lincoln cent and that one set of dies provided the two obverse and one reverse diagnostics that we all know. I am not aware of any other instance of written reporting of a second set of dies used for this coin other than your comments in your 1996 book. With all the pictures of MPL's on this board in the past year I have not seen pictures of your described diagnostics for a second die. That is not to say I don't believe what you are describing. It is just to say that we need to see pictures AND we need to have other collectors confirm that THEIR coin has these diagnostics. I welcome hearing your comments. Thanks,

A couple of different views (due to lighting) of ESM's 1915 for the book.

Kevin, I don't really want to ship my MPL's anywhere, but can take some photos if you think these would be good enough. Shoot me a PM if you want some. I can do larger versions as well.

    Thanks for your offer Doug,

Shooting a bunch of MPLs this week, let me see what is still needed
    after then.

Still trying to figure out some of the die states, especially on the 1911 and 1916.

Hoping to push and get this book done by FUN.
