What a beautiful coin 1936 5 Franc

I think I overpaid for this after looking it up in Krause when i got home but I dont really mind. It was too pretty to pass up.

Very high quality coins such as that deserve a casual glance at krause, but bidding the value is often quite differentimage

I bought one of these a couple of months ago and I don't think you can pay attention to Krause on similar items. They have the prices listed at what you might have paid 3-5 years ago, but they don't seem to have kept up with the actual market since then.

I'm inclined to agree with JCMH- had you bid or offered Krause price, you probably wouldn't have it now. I take it that is slabbed?

I've often said "Women With Swords" would make a good theme. I might try it one day.

Not slabbed just in one of those hard plastic flips. I may send it in to PCGS though.

pendragon1998, is that a photo of a coin you just posted or is it some sort of graphic rendering?

That's a photo of an actual coin - MS69 - taken using axial lighting, which dulls the luster but is good for imaging big, bright, shiny coins in slabs, like britannias.
