Are PSA slabs damage-proof?

I am disappointed with my last two ebay purchases. In one of the purchases I won a 92 Pinnacle
Manny Ramirez card PSA 9 and after close inspection of the card I can't understand how it could
have gotten a Mint 9. The corners were nearly rounded. I am wondering if there is a way to open
the slabs without damaging the slab and then throw a lower quality card back into the slab and snap it back together.
The only way I have ever opened the slabs is with pliers which obviously damages the slabs.

A lot of 2 of these sold for $50 recently. PSA 10s sell for over $200 for some reason..

I've opened PSA and SGC slabs with no tools (just bare hands) and minimal to no frost to the slab. Here's a few pics below.
Then Here's a SGC slab I threw with a 1986 fleer common in it, Notice the flip is for a 72 topps.

1992 Pinnacle cards are hard to find with good centering. Also being black bordered doesn't make it any easier
