Repairing two coins

What can I do to fix these two coins without or minimizing the loss to thier value.

1861 Nova Scotia 1 Cent (corroded?--two toned color)

1895 Straits 50 Cents (appears to have some buildup)

Did some looking around the house and came up with the following items I could possibly use to help them.

    1. Dremil tool.

    2. Razor blades.

    3. Sand paper.

    4.Screwdrive and hammer.

You could try the Tater Trick on the bronze piece, but I suspect it wouldn't help very much.

Those are pretty much beyond saving, I'm afraid.

Then again, that Straits 50c piece might respond well to electrolysis. You wouldn't cure it but you could considerably improve it.

Ya forgot Nitric Acid! It does wonders for removing build up and corrosion! Makes many coins look shiney brand new!
