Any luck with free shipping in Ebay stores??

I am going to try free shipping in my ebay store. Anyone had any luck doing this??
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

    I ran a 5 day sale at 10% off and did real well. Haven't tryed free shipping yet.

    "Free Shipping" does NOT increase sales measurably.

    "Free Shipping" does NOT improve DSR stars.

    "Free Shipping" DOES improve standing in search-results.

    "Free Shipping" DOES - starting soon - entitle the seller to
    "free" subtitles in CORE listings.

    "Free Shipping" DOES avoid arguments with PSYCHO CHEAPSKATES
    about the "shipping charges."

    There are still lots of buyers who will hit you for high shipping charges even with free shipping. Since most bidders figure shipping into their bid it really does not make any difference. The only benefit is that it raises your search standing.

    I have done pretty good offering a flat shipping rate no matter how many items are purchased from my store.

    Free Shipping = pay more final value fee.

    Shipping Charge = pay less final value fee.

    Statistically, "reasonable shipping" nets sellers higher stars than does "free shipping."

    .........

    The "free" subtitle is a potentially good benefit for "free" shipping.

    I have used "free" shipping for a long time.

    I simply add the costs - including extra FVFs - into the final price.

    I started "free" shipping because it avoids having to discuss fees
    with maroon-cheapskates. On that level, it has been a success.

    I am slowing building my store listings to mostly sell off some of the dupes I picked up in lots or cards I have upgraded.

    I have been waivering between doing free shipping or deep discounts for multiple items. Even though it will be more work on my part because I will be selling a range of items from single raw cards to graded cards to boxes, I am leaning towards the discounts because I believe it encourages some potential buyers to buy more items in order to save on shipping.

    With free shipping, there is little incentive to pick up additional items at the same time.

    The only real advantage I see in offering free shipping is the search weighting, but honestly I am not in a hurry to sell my items so I am prepared to let them sit for a while given the listing duration and fees of eBay stores.

    I think Ping has the right idea too, when many people see "sale" they are inclined to take a bit closer of a look. That is a strategy I will most likely apply from time to time as well.
