new 1914 matty images by mgoodm3

so in adding a lil depth to my set i've persued to having my mattys imaged by a seperate pcgs member for each coin...i'd never express the depth of love for this pcgs family enough and here's to the image skills before us
becoka.................my 09
russ......................my 10
robec.....................my 11
speety...................my 12.....this is to be a stunning one to stay tuned for as it will be in "gif" format
mgoodm3..............my 14......he is to try on the reverse more
commoncents05....my 15

now...this 14' commoncents05 had acquired it from brian...both might remember this coin...the reverse hasn't been caught as it is in hand
i have no doubt robec would pull this off if anyone can...in stunning fashion as he's class beyond words
so my 14 still hides a reverse that the fields have a yellowish/gold waxy sheen

blah-blah-blah i know so here's the old versuses new...you like???

Ted, The new pics are 20 times better than the old. I remember the coin well, the reverse isn't completely captured with Mark's photos. The old photos are from Brian and I just cropped them and added the words at the bottom. A great looking coin! I still haven't replaced it in my collection.

  • Ted-

I love the clearity of the die striations under Lincoln's chin on the '14. Classic!

    Nice job, Mark!

  • WOW....

If you don't mind, what type of camera and lens was used for this photo? And what was the lighting arrangement? Very impressive. image

A better rev. The rev is tough because it is a little reflective but mostly only when you tilt into the glare. Catching the color without the glare is tough.

Mark, how much did you have to tilt the coin? Also which light/s did you use to keep the glare diffused?
