You have got to be kidding me!! BBCE related

I was about to leave the house when I heard the UPS truck stop in front of my house. Like a kid at Xmas that thought he heard Santa Claus, I ran to the window to make sure he was stopping here. I watched this fool pick up my package and throw it on his shoulder. Then, he drops it. It not only falls on the floor of the truck, but falls out onto the street. As if this wasnt't bad enough, he walks up to my front door and throws it on the porch knocking over a chair that was on the porch. I opened the door and asked him if he would treat his own package that way. He said and I quote "Don't worry, it's insured" and walked away. I almost went to jail for murder.

i will kick our UPS driver in the shin today if would help you feel better. image
  • I wonder how he would feel if you punched in the mouth and broke out all his front teeth ... and said "don't worry, their insured" ?
  • When I saw that, I was really hoping it was my case of bubblemailers. BTW, I took a lot of pictures of the box before and after opening it. Thankfully, the packs from the group rip were well secured in the middle of the box. The only cards touching the outsideof the box were some junk wax boxes (89 Donruss and Fleer).
  • Opened a few packs of the 89's. They all have dinged corners and damage to the edges.
  • Uh oh, might be some F*&k Faces in there!!!!

Ace Ventura: HDS, sir, and how are you this afternoon? All righty, then. I have a package for you.
    Man: Sounds broken.
Ace Ventura: Most likely, sir. I'll bet it was something nice, though.

DHL once pulled into my driveway, THREW the package (an 8x8x12 box) from the delivery car at my door, then drove away. To top it all off, the item had been sent with signature confirmation, and when I checked the tracking number on the web it appeared that the delivery guy signed his own name.

I called DHL and reported the fool.

Fortunatly, the the item was not damaged, and was packaged in such a way that it could have probably survived being punted from across the street to my door.

My box was all dented up too but Steve does a good job of packing.
  • Awhile back USPS left a large box balanced on my mailbox. My wife watched thru the window as it stayed there for a second then fell. My wife went out to ask why she didnt put it on the ground etc and the carrier said it she didnt have time like some people who stay home all day on welfare do !!! My wife is a stay at home Mom and NOT on welfare. She immediately called my crying. Living <10 minutes from work I soon found her in my neighborhood and gave her a piece of my mind and filed a complaint against her.

If I was a girl and it was raining and we were near some dirt, I would of mud wrestled her.

You need to file a complaint when that happens, and not by calling her boss. Next time she leaves something on the mailbox PM me and I'll send you a scan of the appropriate pages of our delivery manual.

The reason the carrier "doesn't have time" to do her job right is that unlike most jobs, we get paid for a full day no matter how long it takes. If she cuts corners and gets done at 1pm instead of 5pm she still gets paid to 5pm.

I'll help if it happens again.

Mine was a handwritten signed letter from HOF ernie nevers to a fan. Stupid auction company sent it in a huge box that weighed nothing, fedex left it on the porch with no sig. By the time I got home it was an empty box in my yard with packing peanuts everywhere.

I'll never find another one. Doesn't matter that it was insured.

Thanks for the offer. We have since moved though.

Awhile after it happened I read where you posted on how they get paid.

She told my wife " I could of just thrown it over the fence". We had a large dog, signs posted and she was our regular carrier and knew about the dogs. She's the same lady who left us a "Sorry we missed you slip" and I was expecting the package so my wife was waiting for her at her normal time and my wife chased her down for that one. She never even came to the door, car in driveway, windows open etc. I want to say after I complained I dont remember seeing her. Maybe I just blocked it out. haha.

Thanks again for the offer. My current carrier is awesome. Had one a few weeks back that my wife jokingly said I was only buying stuff so I would ensure to see her every Sat. lol

  • Didn't know that UPS now delivered cameltoes
  • my box from steve was totally crushed. i found it in my backyard, under a tree! I kid you not.

    p.s.
    nice camel toe.
  • Next time he shows up, kick him in the cajones and say, "Don't worry, UPS offers health insurance."
  • Steve and his great packing are no match for Canada Customs, they cut and ripped (not very nicely) open my cases of unopened 1980 and 1986 Topps I got from the bbce just yesterday. Even cutting into a box on the inside. And all the boxes inside have big black Xs on them??? Then they charged me 34 bucks for the service. image

Sorry to hear about the UPS guy, but I've just waiting to rant about what happened to me. image

  • << <i>And all the boxes inside have big black Xs on them??? >>

Those are called X out boxes I believe. Customs didn't do that. They came from BBCE that way. They were re-packaged by Topps and the black X designates such.

I get packages from UPS everyday (not my choice, my supplier uses them) and I am amazed at how often damage occurs. Not to mention that here lately, I have a different driver virtually every day, when I used to have the same driver. Sometimes I get delivery at 7am and sometimes 3pm. Sometimes, the UPS guy drives in back and forth in front of my store 8 times during the day before my stuff gets delivered. There CS is awful now, must be a subsidiary of ebay and their shipping rates have gotten outrageous. Ive only had to get an insurance claim on them once and it is WORSE than going through the USPS.

Now, that being said, Miss Cameltoe can deliver anything to me she wants.
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
