This is the third sub to include these cards. In the first, I sent 6 of the commons and they were probably the 6 in what I would say were the worst shape. I received 5 PSA 9 & 1 PSA 8 and at that point I decided to try to complete the set of 19. I deceided to send in the "star" cards of the set, just to see how they would grade, before sending in the last batch to complete the set. Along with a few of the "star" cards, my last batch were among the best of the cards in the set. Batch #2, the star cards came back mostly 10s with one or 2 9s.
Above you see the results of sub #3... 2- 9s, 4-8.5s and 2 8s. I looked over these cards several times with a loupe, looking for any imperfections that could possibly keep these below a 9. Each of the auto cards were clean, sharp, with clear autos...all problem free. The only reason these cards were ever subbed, was the first 2 subs came back with 9s and 10s (with the exception of one PSA8) so I decided to go ahead and get the whole set slabbed (I even went out and found a 2nd card from that first PSA 8 and planned to submit with my 90% freebie, hoping to improve the grade)
I guess now that the set's complete, they think maybe I'll re-submit a few cards hoping for a bump? Maybe I reached my quota of 9s and above with grader 154.
