HELP! Need advice on the best scanner for cards

So I had been using my 4 year old Dell A940 all-in-one for my scanning needs and it produced very sharp and clear scans like this at 150dpi:

Now I recently bought a Lexmark all-in-one since the Dell died, and the scanner is horrible! The problem is the scanning device doesn't produce nearly as bright a light as the old Dell. Here's a scan from the Lexmark at 150dpi:

Anyone have any all-in-one suggestions that produce good scans? I'm almost tempted to just buy a working A940 again.

3-d objects hence the blurry scan.
Someone here (in another post) just recommended an HP to me.
Don't know if you think this scan is any better, it's from my visioneer onetouch 7100, I have used this scanner for several years.
<< <i>Same boat for me.....I now have a Canon Canoscan which does a horrible job with PSA cards...blurry (just like the one you posted) and the colors are always 'dull'.

I have a Canon as well (not sure if it is a Canoscan or not). Anyway, on my Canon software, you can change all sorts of options and get a really good, clear scan. However, a 3D object is terrible, Like an autographed baseball. I used to have a Visioneer and with it, I could scan a signed baseball, and it looked great. With my Canon, it looks terrible. As the signature curves away from the glass, it gets very, very blurry.

Didn't recommened it, but I do use it. I belive that many here have mentioned in the past that Epson makes a good one. Relatively cheap, like the HP that I use. Search "Epson" and there should be a thread with good suggestions. Here are some HP G3010 scans, scanned at 125 DPI, hosted at Photobucket, not ebay:
card scanning. Never would I deal with one of those all-in-one things. To much headaches.
200 dpi on the cheapy works just fine for me.
Its not an all in one, but I went for a HP Scanjet 4850 after lots of investigating and even asking ebay sellers whose cards I liked the look of what scanner they used.
The HP came out tops.
These images are a comparison of my old Canon Canoscan 3200F on the top and my newer HP Scanjet 4850 below. They are straight scans with no manipulation in photoshop etc.
The thread is here Which scanner is the best? if you want to go through. It was mostly me comparing cards found on ebay and what type of scanner was used. There are samples on the last page of different cards in different holders (PSA, BGS, one touch thick holder etc) on the last page.
Hope the info helps.
