PSA-Like Cases ?

Ever since I moved from Michigan to Texas, I've been a bit out of touch with most aspects of the hobby.

Is there a screw-down or snap-tite case made to resemble a PSA case ? A case with open corner areas ?

Sorry, but I can't picture what you're trying to describe.

I'm sure some of the guys here could help if you could
    be a bit clearer.

There are lucite cases with open corners. They aren't shaped like PSA slabs but most of the good holders with have corners that are open, not square.

'61 Topps Roy Campanella in PSA 5-7
    Cardinal T206 cards
    Adam Wainwright GU Jersey
  • Forgot who was selling them on here for a while, but I got a lot of 10 that are very similar and the only way to get the card out after putting it in the holder is to break the case.
  • There are these that you slab yourself.

ProTech made a holder called "Mini-Slab." It looks much like a graded slab, but slightly smaller. Once assembled, it is tamper evident and will break apart if attempts are made to access the encapsulated card.

Here is an example of one I used. Terrible scan, but you can see the label I made and inserted into the slab as well.

Has anyone ever used those MiniSlabs? They seem kind of cheaply made...

    Slanty,

If you look up at the picture, that's one of my cards I put into the slab.

They are more of a novelty, but, in my opinion, are very solid once assembled. To get the card out, I'd have to physically break the case and it would require some force.

Since you have experience with this type of slab, is there enough room to put the card in a penny sleeve first and then into the slab?

    Thanks
