It's a stamped ball, and not worth much of anything, if that's what you are asking.

It is a stamp, but it's likely a 75 or 76 Reds team.
  • Options
Its most likely a 1977 or 1978 Reds ball.

Tom Seaver joined the Reds in June '77 returning to the Mets in 1982.

might be worth a few bucks for a red collector, regardless of whether its stamped.

it's a 1978 ball as it was Roses' last year in Cincinnati; relatively worthless item ($5 on a REAL good day)

Very funny title for a thread.

Dude -- you need to get to a doctor and have that checked out ASAP!

It seems to have swollen up to six times its normal size... and there are weird black patterns all over... also, it looks like you tried to sew it back together with thick red thread.
Nolan Ryan & Edgar Martinez are my favorite players...

That ball has a retail value of 10 bucks. It was sold at Riverfront stadium and the Reds 580 gift shop and is from 1978. It may bring a bit more on Ebay depending on who is looking.

Based upon the signatures, it is a 1978 Reds stamped team ball. Available at the stadium and via mail-in. Limited value as has already been stated.

The clincher is that several sigs are from players that played their final seasons in Cincy in 1978 as well as Bill Bonham playing his first year for the Reds in 1978.

The first indication of a problem was that you reference your ball in the singular!

I wish everyone who came on here asking for help would post nice big pictures. Some of us have not-so-good eyesight, and I for one, get tired of feeling like I'm looking at a satellite photoimage

What's the deal with the rash of stamped balls and dirty balls being posted here lately?

He never heard of Pete Rose?

    I find that incredible.

I like how the company that produces the stamped balls actually used Sparky Anderson's legal name of 'George' (probably signed him to a contract in the late 1950's when he was a player).
