I'm trying to figure out how many different kinds of counterstamps he produced and I thought that if everone listed the ones that they have it should be a fairly accurate list. Here are the ones that I have-
1. Ronald Reagan 1981 - Stamped on a 1776-1976 s Eisenhower
2. International Association Of Professional Numismatists 1980 - Stamped on a 1776-1976 p Eisenhower
3. Los Angeles Games 1984 - Stamped on a 1971 s Eisenhower
4. U.S.A. Gold Medal Hockey Team 1980 - Stamped on a 1978 p Eisenhower
Thank You

Here ya go!
(The one that got me looking!)
Edited to correct number struck.
9. "1981 Freedon Dollar"; 1971-s proof Ike - 444 pieces
10. "1979 Papal Half Dollar"; 1967 SMS Kenedy - 1979 pieces
11. "1980 Ski Dollar"; 1971-s proof Ike - 2000 pieces
12. "1979 Papal Peso"; 1965 Mexican peso - 1979 pieces
I do not own all of these examples, but have seen them on eBay.
Also, I have seen the 1981 Reagan dollar struck on the clad Bicentennial Ike. Does anyone know if the stated figure of 1500 pieces is the total, or were there 1500 silver and 1500 clad produced?
How many of the listed examples so far do forum members have? I think I have three of them, and would love to see pics of the rest if anyone has them.
These are things are getting harder to find reasonable.
Where'd you find the black ones?
Also notice the small number in the lower left corner is diffrent. I have no idea what it means.

<< <i>I have no recollection of those numbers in the lower right hand corner. Perhaps they were on the inserts, which were commercially available. I had to gently hammer each coin (putting a magazine between the coin and the hammer) in order to widen the hole since the counterstamped coins were larger than the original Peace Dollars. I appreciate everyone's interest in my counterstamped coins. The quantities indicated were maximum authorized numbers, and most issues were much smaller -- except for the very first issue, the Camp David Peace Dollars -- which sold out the issue of 1,000.

Welcome Mel! Hopefully, you can answer any questions that we might have.
I do believe that we have a group of Mel Wacks' counterstamped coin collectors here.

Mel,
Do you recall the circumstances of the production?
Also, feel free to weigh in with additions to our list!
<< <i>If someone has a Reagan Dollar laying around, let me know. >>
There's one up on the 'bay currently:

USAF (Ret) 1974 - 1994 - The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. Remembering RickO, a brother in arms.
I have an almost complete collection of these wonderful Wacks counterstamped coins. Only missing the first Turkey one, which is available, but grossly overpriced.
I also have the (incomplete) catalog that Mel made, and can send it to anyone who wants it (paz@sbcglobal.net).
And, I've got a few of them for sale!

You can get the Texas Turkey first day cover for less than the '1980 Olympians 20 Mark GDR' if you keep looking and get lucky
