Check out this 1872 S-11 Indian Cent

Hello All,
I bought an 1872 this week to upgrade my set and when I got it under the scope I discovered it was a S-11, 1 in neck.
I bought this coin from Harry Laibstain Rare Coins.
My camera will not show the repunched date but it is very clear with the loupe
This bad boy also has a die polish mark that makes what looks like a pin thru the ear.

The variety is a nice bonus of course, but that is one heck of a monster coin regardless!

I was clueless to what an S-11 is, but an 1872 Indian is respectable in any grade, let alone 64 RB.

It must have been a good feeling when you put the loupe to this one and saw the diagnostics/ die characteristics of a variety. This is the "vam" inside the numismatist, ... or is it a snowjob image
You have geek written all over you and I'm proud to be associated with your kind.

  • Thanks for the kind words, Yes Joe my wife calls me a geek all the time,
when I started checking this bad boy out I could not believe all the character it has, to say the least I was quite pleased,
I feel very fortunate to add it to my set.
