Jane Russell Treated Bob Waterfield Better - Neutral for a PWE?

Won this Waterfield Rookie - arrives today in a PWE for a whopping $.59 postage. No padding, no nothing - just Bob and the small envelope. It arrived safely, but come on, they could have packaged it much better. What a risk! Anyway, I'm considering a Neutral FB. What do you guys do in this situation?

Well... since a bubble mailer and proper postage for 1 slab still costs less than $3, I'd say you're justified in a neutral. 59 cents to ship. A penny or less for the envelope. $2.40 pocketed to cover his eBay/Paypal fees for the transaction.

You know you'd be leaving a neg if it arrived cracked... I know I would!

Something is up with that seller.

Gone for a year-and-a-half+, then shows up with PWEs.

My WAG is the seller may have expired and his spouse is at the helm, now.

Ordinarily, I would NEG for a PWE.... even if it showed up safe. BUT, on the
off-chance that there might be a backstory here, I guess I would leave
    nothing OR a POS.

Maybe you could email the seller a friendly heads-up. If it's the guy's widow,
she probably has no clue how to ship correctly.

He had good FB for "safe packaging," in the old days.

remember a neutral is almost like a negative now with ebay's new scoring policy.

It's pretty clear that the seller doesn't have a clue.

I'd just send a friendly helpful suggestion. No need for a neutral, since they now count as negatives.

If the seller's feedback rating was like 85% with other similar complaints, then maybe I'd neut or neg him/her.

Sometimes, you have to play the good guy .... especially since your card came as advertised.

    /////////////////////////////////////

NEUTs no longer count as NEGs. (Changed a couple weeks ago.)

I still would not leave neut/neg, if it's just some dead guy's spouse.

I would tip her on how to do it correctly.

    You're doing the right thing.

    Awesome reference, by the way.

    Dead guy's widow?

    Rather assumptive isn't it?

Perhaps this seller took a hiatus. Perhaps they had another ID. Perhaps there are many other reasons that there is a gap in the useage of the account.

With regard to past feedback, has anyone considered that had someone noted the PWE previously with a NEUTRAL or a NEGATIVE, that may have been subject to retallitory feedback? Remember that?

I'd email the seller and let them know your concern. Their reply could dictate which direction your feedback takes (this is not to suggest any sort of extortion). Keep in mind that the item did arrive safely.

I agree with the majority. I would e-mail the seller and explain your concern.. to be helpful to them and fellow collectors in the long run....then move on. I would likely not leave any feedback.

It annoys me just as much when I get a get a card "safe" that is a decent dollar amount and shipped in a bubble mailing without any cardboard backing. Cardboard is not rare guys. Cut a piece of cardboard slightly bigger then the card and it will take 95% of all problems. I also think any card over $50 should go in a box. Treat the cards how you would want them treated if they were (still) yours.
