Boxes(PCGS)

I have only submitted once to pcgs and that was my 8 freebie submissions in which I received a blue box to hold the coins in. How man coins do you have to submit in order to get one of those boxes? Would I get a box if I just submitted one coin?

The last time, earlier in this month, I submitted two coins, they were not returned in a blue box.

I have been meaning to ask this very same question, but didn't feel like making a new thread. But now that the thread is here... +1!

It would be interesting to know PCGS boxing habits from experienced folks. Any little nuances in their behavior would be appreciated.

Do they keep world and us coins separated as they should be? As per generally accepted coin handling practices dictate? No mixing! image

5 or more Blue Box. 4 or less come flat in safety mailers in a cardboard envelope.

Of course, you can request that the coins, regardless of number submitted, get shipped back in a blue box and PCGS will comply.

I have received a single coin in a blue box in the past.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I believe it is 5 or more, but I am not sure because I sent 20 coins each of the three times I submitted.
  • I've gotten back less than 5 in a blue box without requesting it- of course they had to save room for the bodybags!image

5 is usually the minimum for a box. Anything less I've usully got in an padded envelope.

That is interesting. You can send 30 coins in to NGC

and the cheap skates will never send them back in a

    box.

It depends on where you submit the coin.

Show service with 1 coin will get you a box, but mind you that's one expensive box ($105)

My experience has been orders of 3 coins or less, no box 4 or more Box

I also got a box with a one coin express, but again it was a 50.00 fee

My 4 freebie for completing 90% of my registry set came back earlier this month in a blue box. Not sure if they always send 4 slabs back in a blue box but they did this time. image

I agree with most of the above.

5 min with the occasional bonus for less.
