British Holed Coins

Hi,
Am trying to learn how holed coins were created in the royal mint, period 1920’s-40’s, in which step exactly they got holed, and any info about the process.

Especially am curious as for how the errors happened.

    Those are neat. I have seen others (maybe some Royal mint issues like the East African coins) with the off-center holes or unholed planchets.

    I don't know much about the process that went into making them, however.

    British West Africa,Nigeria,Nigeria - B.W.A.,& Fiji also had coins with holes in the centre,as did New Guinea & East Africa.
