    This (THEOD CAR DG BAV D) points to;

    Karl Theodor, Prince-Elector, Count Palatine and Duke of Bavaria....ruled as Prince-Elector from 1742 onward.

    The "EP" may signal Elector-Prince et (and) ???

    My German patriarch "got out of Dodge" in 1750, and sailed to Philly. He was tired of fighting for a bunch of Krauts.....then 26 years later he and his sons wound up fighting another Kraut, King George III. image
  • My first thought was Bavaria also but I didn't see it there.

    Was Dodge owned by the Bayerischen Motoren Werke back then?
