Why is this Mantle not cataloged in the SCD Standard?

This is not my photo, but I do have one of these. I have a couple of questions about this. First of all, why is not cataloged in the SCD? If you have ever studied the Standard catalog, you know that there are some very obscure items in there, including many Mantle items. Secondly, are they pretty common? You would think that they would be worth a little to a Mantle collector. I see them on Ebay with Buy It Now prices for $10 to $20.

Shane, It's not listed in the big book because it is a booklet, rather than a card. I believe it is part of a Mickey Mantle game from that era. About the only booklets in the catalog are those that were issued in series with different players, such as the 1954 Plankinton hot dogs Milwaukee Braves, 1962(?) Colt .45s, early 1960s Union Oil Dodgers, etc.

So, are you saying that the only way for it to be cataloged is

    a) it has to be a card

    and

    b) if it is not a card, it has to be in a series with other players?

I am looking to see if I can find exceptions to that. Not trying to be argumentative. I just want to confirm that and find out for sure.

I do see that photos are listed under Mantle. Let me look under Babe Ruth....

...same with Ruth. He has postcard and photos. No "non cards" or "non photos".
