Nice batch of Roosies coming up

Sunday August 31st, a nice bunch of Roosies coming up on Teletrade.
JHF has to much class to toot his on horn.
So since I have no class, I'll toot it for him.
There are some nice low pop hard to come by coins in this fresh batch coming up.
So grab your pop reports and do the window shopping thing.... image

No SMS coin in this batch, but who knows, keep your eyes open.
I could use 6 of them, but will have to narrow my shot at just one. image

    Dan60,

There are something like 7 lots that I could use for my set. We will see what happens Sun. I've been adding/up-grading like a freak lately! image

    Later, Paul.

Paul I have no doubt you will do very well in this auction. Its a foregone fact that you are headed, "full steam" into second place when JHF retires his set in due time.
Then you and Dr. Larry Brown, will put on a real good show for the rest of us, battling for 1st place. image
But... don't count Tim out of the picture quite yet. He could still put a move on both of you guys.... image

Congrats to the winning bidders tonight - I'll work with JHF to assist in retiring his clad set over the next couple days so winning bidders can enter lots in their registry sets by early next week.

P.S. I thought a number of the sale prices were very strong and encouraging to clad dime collectors - some coins strongly exceeding full price guide.

Oh Well, Wouldn't change it anyway.

I hope everyone got a great deal.
I am now just waiting for the realized prices to come up.

"Time + Family = Missing the Dime Auction."

Same story on my end. 50+ guest at my house today = no Teletrade auction for me.
Sunday is the worst time for me to try and catch a TT auction. I miss at least 50%
of them. I see some very strong results. Congrats to the new owners.

The 90-D 66FB shows how tough the clads are from 90-95. at $1450.00, price guide= $550.00. They are now going to have to raise the prices on both the 66FB and the 67FB. For those not in the know, these are the "ONLY 2 FB's" in 1990-D.
Some of the ones I wanted went for more than I could match. But seeing the clads get some of the respect they deserve was satisfying, to say the least.
Some didn't sell, so maybe all is not lost yet for me.... image

    Wondercoin,
Pardon me for changing the topic, but any news on the silver roosie JHF sale? Those of us who are addicts need to make some travel plans!image

  • I was out of town so I placed bids on six coins before I left . . . won zero.
    Congrats to the new owners.
  • Looks like several coins didn't sell. With the number of collectors watching / bidding maybe the reserve price was unrealisticly high (too bad it wasn't a "true" auction)image

Rainbowroosies - I should know a lot more by this time next week and will let you know.

Tim - I will generally not accept consignment coins without reserves (in fact see my comment yesterday on the auction collusion thread initiated by Coingame 2000 over on the US Coin Forum). Frankly, I have been advising my consignors of this (unfortunate) reality for the past several years. It is what it is.

Ditto......been a rough year so I saved up, used the bonus+air miles+coupon and took the family to Hawaii (Waikiki beach to be precise) so the wife could attend a wedding for a family member (she has family there she hasn't seen in ~15years or more) and we could all 3 enjoy sun/warmth/beach.

While I would have loved to see the lots and bid on some for him, the look on my son's face the whole time we were swimming (beach and pool) and seeing family was well worth not booting the PC/logging in/being online.

Hope some around here got some nice coins.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Rainbowroosies - The JHF Silver Roosevelt Dime auction will take place at the FUN show. Superior will conduct the auction. I spent a few hours with Nick this week examining every dime (I believe there are roughly 100-110 total dimes that comprise the top set going to auction). Nick can fill anyone in on the quality of a particular coin - I believe he took careful notes on each dime and also told me which dimes were the nicest he had ever seen for the date (and there were quite a few). Also, Rainbowroosies (or anyone else that Superior clears) - if there are any dimes you want to see ahead of the lot viewing (or if you can not attend lot viewing), just contact Paul Song at Superior and make arrangements with Paul. Under some circumstances, Paul may be able to overnight a dime or two to approved collectors for inspection or bring them to another show or coin event.

This should be one sensational auction for the silver Roosie dime series!
