Friend of mine attended the recent Cincinnati Reds hall of fame induction ceromonies this year and was kind enough to send along a few photos. I thought I would share

Starting with Geronimo and Concepcion

Followed by Eric Davis and Pete Rose

Cesar looks like Earle Hyman these days. Too bad he couldn't sport that moustache in his playing days.

Every time I see Geronimo it reminds me back in '79 when I asked him for an autograph outside the Vet in Philadelphia before a game. He signed it "C.G."

Those are neat. I would not have recognized Concepcion or Griffey without the captions.

Was this an event honoring the Big Red Machine? If so, why and the hell was Eric Davis there? Was he a caddie for some of the guys for a Big Red golf tourney?

Edit to add: That was not a shot at Davis. Met him at a card show in about 1988 or so. Was one of the nicest people I ever met. Of course I was a dumb kid that was just in awe of any Major Leaguer.

It was the induction to the Reds HOF, Davis is in the Reds HOF.

Don't fell bad lsu, I thought of the same thing as well. Not the caddy thing but what he was doing there.

I always liked Eric Davis(as a player, never met him) of course being a Reds collector I had a hoard of his now worthless cards.

Davis was just another one of those amazing athletes that never quite lived up to his potential, although his was mainly due to physical issues.
