NL/AL Question...

Hi,
I`m usually over on the coin forums but I need to ask this question.

Why is it that the National League has 16 teams in its conference when the American League only has 14?

Am I crazy to think that each conference should have the equal amount of teams?

Is that fair...

Why couldn`t they (switch) one of the NL teams to the AL to even things out?

Probably a dumb question..........

If they equalled them out at 15, one team would ALWAYS be off each day, because you could only pair up 14 teams. You need an even # of teams to keep the schedule rollin along.
