Here's another question....Matt Kemp or Ryan Zimmerman?

Hello again,

I am trying ti decide between buying a 2005 Bowman Chrome Matt Kemp AUTO or the Zimmerman AUTO from the same set for my collection of 2 bowman chrome rookies from 2001 to present (I already have a Ryan Braun Bowman Chrome RC). I can only buy one...so

the same old question I love to ask.

Who would you like on your team and why?

Who- Kemp

Why- I like the Dodgers.

They say Kemp is a future stud. I dont know anything about Zimmerman.

I'm currently trying for Kemp's 05 Bowman Xfractor auto.

Who do you have from each year?

Kemp - Has a lot more potential as an all around player (ie hit for average, stolen bases, etc). The fact he is complete, he will bat higher in the order, more AB=More stats. Plus, he plays for the Dodgers. The Dodgers will eventually realize how stupid their lineup has been this year and surround him with better players as well, like Manny. Zimmerman plays for the Nats...enuff said, no star player, no nothing.

Its all about exposure as well. Check out Jose Reyes/Hanley Ramirez....Ramirez is a much more complete player, but plays for the Marlins. If he played in NY like Reyes did, his RC would cost more.

I tend to agree, Zimmerman will have to get out of DC to get any hobby love.

This is what I have so far for my Bowman Chrome 2 per year collection...

2001 Jose Reyes & Ichiro
2002 David Wirght auto & Joe Mauer auto
2003 Hanley Ramirez auto & Brian McCann auto
2004 Felix Hernandez auto (still waiting on a second player to make it big)
2005 Ryan Braun auto & the one of the two mentioned in this thread (and I am leaning towards Kemp)
2006 Evan Longoria auto & Clayton Kershaw auto
2007 Tim Lincecum auto (again waiting because I am not sold on Joba yet)
2008 David Price auto and then again waiting on a second

I would love someday to add a Pujols 2001 auto but that will have to wait a bit

Nice...I was watching that Kemp...but am just looking for the regular to go with the rest I have.

I am waiting on LaPorta...I read an article that a few scouts are talking about him being a Kevin Mench type hitter and not the middle of the order guy others think.

So I am going to wait a bit...might cost me but might not...

Yeah he was hyped up alot awhile back.

Glad I waited on the Kershaw. A short while back (before his debut) I think the X's were $200-250. Ended up paying $150. There was a few that sold for $100 recently but I was broke.

Thought I better grab Kemp as he will probally keep getting more expensive. Looks like a X line and a top corner ding but I'll never sell them so it's not that big of a deal to me.

Most of the time it's better to wait. Few exceptions-

I was wanting to buy 05 BDP boxes awhile back to try for rare Martin cards or ones to upgrade. Boxes were $100

I just bought 2 for $170 each. Got about $30 worth of cards in each and not 1 Martin I can use. Ouch.

Next in my Xfractor Dodger RC collection sights is Billingsley.

Kemp plays on a better team with solid players. zimmerman plays in the crap hole of the universe Plus he has been hurt a bit. Havent really seen his full potential.

Kemp has been a huge pickup in my fantasy leagues. good pop and nice stolen bases. 300 avg and scores lots of runs too.
